Dear Brother or Sister,

Walk Of Shame Introduction Letter

29 May – 4 June 2021

Dear brother/sister,

You and I are human beings with the same rights to a dignified existence. But your dignity is being violated by Europe, the continent I grew up in. I am ashamed and frustrated.

I have tried to change the system and will continue to do so but this takes time. I am not a journalist or a politician, but I am a human being just like you. We try to be by your side, at least for a moment. And I will share the stories and situations here with my friends and family and network back home. I do not know if it is enough, but i could not stay away any longer.

I may not be able to help you in any way. How could I? I can’t change European politics for you, but I cán start doing something Europe should have done right away: normal human contact as people of equal value. For that’s true, wherever we come from, wherever we go and whatever role we have in life.

If I am welcome, in your world here, despite the harm done to you by my government in the European context, then I would be very grateful to be your humble guest for just a moment.
